Online

UPDATE: While we have resumed “In Person” lessons, online lessons continue to serve as a marvelously effective way to develop musical instruction. If interested in either online or in person, simply note your current preference via our Lesson Interest Form below.

Welcome to The Sparrow… online!

Although we find in person learning immensely imperative, specifically to a child’s development, and also believe there is no amount of being accustomed to social media that will ever make our virtual worlds a replacement to in person interaction, we also recognize that the technology at our fingertips has paved way for a medium of learning that has not otherwise ever been possible.

For that reason we are continuing to offer private musical instruction in an online format, as we hope to serve your unique needs where it so happens that in person lessons are simply not feasible.

ONLINE LESSONS

PRIVATE and SEMI-PRIVATE INSTRUCTION

How soon may we begin?

You are welcome to inquire with The Sparrow anytime! In the case that our currently availability matches your schedule, we can begin immediately.

What area of instruction are you offering?

Miss Jennifer teaches piano and voice.

Mr Jordan teaches guitar, ukulele, and drums.

How long do these online lessons run?

Lessons are regarded as ongoing and students will meet with their instructor online weekly for 30 minute lessons. Policy regarding intent to withdraw is included in our studio contract, but simply stated, we require one months notice.

Are these live lessons or pre-recorded videos?

All lessons are live with your student’s instructor via Zoom at a weekly agreed upon time.

How is the online format different from what you typically offer?

We offer in person private instruction as our main lesson medium, whether from our home studio in Yorkville, Illinois or in a student’s home. Yet we have found that, even in the case of some local families, online instruction makes lessons possible where they wouldn’t otherwise be. Each weekly 30 minute lesson is just what you would experience as if we were sitting across from one another. We have a few tricks up our sleeve to eliminate any gaps that might come up by missing the in person interaction, but the material we cover and personal interaction are all very much intact, even in an online format.

Would my student be able to transition into in person lessons down the road?

Absolutely! As a student of The Sparrow, lessons are considered ongoing, even though your preference with regards to in person versus online arrangements may change. Granted we may need to adjust your lesson time, but we are happy to tend to that when the time comes.

What is my investment?

Standard weekly, 30 minute private lessons are $25 per lesson. However semi-private lesson formats, and even occasional group classes, are available. Please inquire using the form below and we will provide you with the rate of your investment based upon your preferred lesson format.

Can I sign up for a trial lesson before committing?

We certainly understand the value of letting your child experience an online lesson and meet their instructor before saying ‘yes.’ Trial lessons are absolutely available and will be subject to that of a standard lesson payment. However, no guarantees with regard to your lesson time will be made until committing to a consistent, weekly lesson.

I’m interested! Now what?
