2023-2024 Teaching Calendar
The Sparrow considers the below dates as non-lesson days. No lessons will take place, nor will a make up lesson be required. Sparrow families will see an adjustment in their invoice for that month. Both winter and spring breaks align with the Yorkville School District calendar.
- Labor Day, September 4
- Wednesday-Saturday of Thanksgiving Week, November 22-24
- Winter Break: Friday, December 22 – Friday, January 5
- Spring Break (Good Friday): March 25-29
- Memorial Day, May 27
- Independence Day Week: July 1-5
Summer Exemptions
The Sparrow allots Tuesday-Friday students two canceled lessons from Memorial Day to Labor Day, due to vacation, that does not require a make up lesson. Since both Memorial Day and Labor Day are non-lesson days that fall on a Monday, Monday students receive one summer exemption.
Your Sparrow instructor will submit any personal summer vacation days to you by May 15th. You will receive a make up credit at that time.

Need to schedule a make up credit? Simply head to your instructors Open Lesson Google Calendar and email us with the open make up lesson time you’d like to request, or easier yet, use the form below.
Make up credits expire six months from the canceled lesson date.
