From vacation dates to summer exemptions, this is one area that several of you have been anxious to hear about and we dare not keep you waiting any longer!
Summer Calendar:
Lessons will continue at your regularly scheduled time, with the exception of the below:
INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEK BREAK: June 29-July 3
There will be no lessons held this weeks, nor will a make up lesson be required. (Remember, your monthly tuition rightly averages 4 lessons per month to account for both breaks and 5 lesson months.)
SCHOOL PREP BREAK: August 10-13 *new*
A make up credit will be given for these Monday-Thursday lessons.
TEACHER ABSENCES:
Mr. Jordan and Miss Jennifer will be absent the following days:
Thursday, July 30 – Friday, August 1 & Monday, August 3 – Tuesday, August 4.
Make up credits will be issued to your Google Classroom and given that the cancelation is on our end, we will work with you directly to schedule your make up lesson rather than requesting that you go through our Open Lesson Times Google Calendar.
Summer Exemptions:
For our Sparrow students enrolled in ongoing, weekly lessons, two canceled lessons, due to vacation, between Memorial Day and Labor Day are allotted. These lessons do not require a make up lesson. Rather the applicable amount will be deducted from that months payment in the case that adequate notice was given. Notification of the summer lessons which you would like to mark as “exempt” is due by no later than three business days prior to the 26th day of the previous month.
In the case that you missed the deadline, no worries- you will receive a credit for the following billing cycle. Simply keep in mind that no refunds may be issued.
To request a summer exemption. please utilize our Cancelation Form and select “Summer Exemption” in the Reason scroll down menu.
Summer Withdrawal & Fall Reservations:
Sometimes we just need a break! In the case that you are withdrawing from lessons for the summer but would like to reserve a day and time for the fall, a non-refundable deposit of half a months tuition is due by no later than June 15th. This amount will go toward payment for lessons beginning the latter half of August or at the start of September. A reservation is not required for fall lessons, however, we unfortunately would not be able to guarantee resuming at your current lesson time.
Make Up Lessons:
For those students coming into the summer months with make up credits still outstanding, we would highly encourage you to fulfill those credits so as not to carry them with you into the fall semester. (If you’ve lost track, not to worry! All cancelations and credits are logged in your Google Classroom.) Credits still will not expire until 6 months time from the canceled lesson date, but lesson time availability has increased for the summer months!

Once you find a time you like, simply make a request via the Make Up Lesson Request Form.
We hope that these summer details allow a bit of margin in the summer months, while also encouraging your student to continue on with their musical pursuits even while school is out of session.
