Who We Are

The Sparrow was founded by husband and wife, Jordan and Jennifer Bumgarner, who, after teaching private lessons for several years out of both their home, students homes, and local studios, found their love for teaching grow exponentially, paired with a deep desire to instill value in the students they have the honor of teaching while celebrating the unmatched influence music has on our cultures mental and emotional wellbeing. They are intent in creating a space that speaks into the value of each student in that way, but also provides a much needed oasis for the parents that find themselves tirelessly investing in their children. Where commitments are all too often overlapping and with little room for rest, The Sparrow intentionally seeks to let that thirty minutes of waiting be a time that one can look forward to in their week, bringing a cafe like setting, freshly roasted cup of coffee, and locally baked confection. Often times value is placed in what we are able to accomplish, and yet we believe that self-worth is spoken into more ardently in stillness, whether in a waiting room or in a lesson room. Only in those moments can our inherent value be measured – the moments that we believe worth is not attached to our productivity, but the simple ability to be.
